It was first approved by the FDA for medical use in 1989 (for eye muscle disorders), and then for cosmetic use in 2002 to treat frown lines.
Since then, it has been extensively studied in hundreds of clinical trials across both aesthetic and therapeutic applications, making it the most researched neuromodulator on the market.

What is Daxxify?
Daxxify, brought to market by Revance is short for daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm and is an FDA approved treatment to improve the appearance of wrinkles by temporarily blocking the release of the neurotransmitter that causes muscle movement.
What is the Cost of Botox and Daxxify?
At Healthy Solutions Medspa, Botox injections cost between $11.50 and $13.50 a unit, depending on if you are a VIP Member.
Daxxify can range from $12-$15 per unit depending on location and the practice.
How Long Does Botox and Daxxify Last?
Botox lasts around three to four months, while Daxxify is said to last around six months.
Daxxify is marketed as a longer-lasting neuromodulator—with results purportedly lasting up to six months or more—patient experiences vary, and some individuals report that it doesn’t meet these expectations.
For instance, a reviewer on RealSelf noted that their Daxxify treatment began to wear off about a month and a half after administration, which was shorter than their typical experience with Botox.
Another user from Real Self shared that their Daxxify results lasted only three months, leading them to consider returning to Botox for its reliability.
Are Botox and Daxxify Safe?
Botox has been FDA approved for over 30 years and has been deemed safe for use.
The FDA approved Daxxify in September of 2022, so it is fairly new.
There are risks to both of them, although rare, that you should do research on before having treatment and talk to your provider to make sure this treatment is right for you.
Tried and True vs New
Many people may be hesitant to try Daxxify due to the fact it is super new.
