How Does JUVÉDERM Work?

Each form of JUVÉDERM is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a sugar that naturally occurs in the body, and it retains moisture to help skin stay hydrated. As we age, hyaluronic acid levels in our skin decrease, which is partially responsible for loss of facial volume and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid fillers like JUVÉDERM increase water retention in the treated areas, resulting in plumper skin with increased volume.1

What is JUVÉDERM VOLUX?

JUVÉDERM VOLUX is the latest addition to the JUVÉDERM family of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. This formulation is made using VYCROSS® technology, where a small amount of a compound called BDDE is added, crosslinking with the hyaluronic gel. The result is a more viscous and smooth gel that is specifically formulated to improve the contours of the jawline and reduce the appearance of jowls.2

The JUVEDERM VOLUX Treatment Experience:

The JUVÉDERM VOLUX jawline filler procedure is performed at our medical spa and takes about 30 minutes. Patients recline in a comfortable treatment chair while an experienced nurse or physician injects the product using a very fine needle. The JUVÉDERM VOLUX formula contains lidocaine (a numbing agent), and this anesthetic helps to reduce sensitivity to make treatment more comfortable for our patients.

No downtime is necessary after treatment with JUVÉDERM VOLUX, but mild redness, swelling, and bruising may be expected for a short time after treatment.
